  1. Since joining White Spaces from April 2011, Zahira has worked on multiple large-scale Organization Design and Change Management initiatives. In her role as Head Human Resources - Times Global Broadcasting Company Limited (TIMES NOW & ET NOW) from August 2005 till March 2011 Zahira has: Designed and implemented the entire Human Resource Systems in the startup news television channels TIMES NOW & ET NOW to align with the organization's goals. Crafted a robust Performance Management process for the entire organization and implemented a Performance Incentive scheme linked to the same.
  3. Been the HR lead in merging and restructuring the Distribution teams of TIMES NOW, ET NOW & zoOm into a new entity. Restructured and rationalized the Technology and Broadcasting Operations department after merging the individual technology pockets of TIMES NOW, ET NOW & zoOm into a centralized technology function.
  4. In her role as Head Human Resources - zoOm from November 2003 till July 2005 : Worked on the manpower business plan and the organization design for the maiden television start up venture across the 4 genres - Entertainment, News, Spiritual and Music. Actively involved in the launch of the group's first entertainment channel zoOm and drove the Human Resource agenda linked to the channels business goals. Redeployed with dignity the entire teams recruited for the Spiritual and Music channels as both could not get launched owing to business constraints.
  5. In her role as Senior Manager - Human Resources Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL) from August 2001 till October 2003: As a Business Human Resource interface, provided end to end HR support to The Times Of India, Economic Times, Maharashtra Times, Femina & Filmfare supported by teams. Successfully managed to gain acceptance into the journalist fold (journalists on contract and on wage board) and helped bridge the gap between management and journalists through structured HR interventions which improved employee engagement levels and helped retention of key talent.
  6. In her role as Manager - Human Resources, BCCL from August 1999 till July 2001: Designed and launched the first Training Calendar for the Times Group driving the learning agenda and working with the Branch Heads across multiple locations to ensure implementation of the same. Worked on & implemented a series of 'Managerial effectiveness' training programmes which helped reinforce continuous learning. Developed, secured consensus and successfully executed the inaugural competency based Performance Management system. Actively supported and sought justice for a victim of sexual harassment in a legal case pursued in the Labour court by the sacked employee. In her role as Deputy Manager - Human Resources BCCL from July 1997 till July 1999.
